Presentation of the working group on internationalism and international solidarity - commentsPresentation of the working group on internationalism and international solidarity2017-03-04T22:19:33Zhttps://intercoll.net/Presentation-of-the-working-group-on-internationalism-and-international#comment32017-03-04T22:19:33Z
A site concentrating on this topic is long overdue and therefore highly welcome.

I would suggest eventually putting the initial statement up for discussion amongst those interested.

In particular I would like to see mention of theories of internationalism, this in so far as I have myself argued we need to move from a concept that inevitably refers to the nation, nationals, nationalisms, by a 'post-national' one. I have suggested 'the new global solidarity' or 'solidarities', even whilst recognising the familiarity and attractions of a one-word title.

Also I wonder whether we should not specify the page as being about the international [woops, delete ! delete !] GLOBAL relations of social movements, as distinguished from such inter-state ones (Bandung, etc) precisely because they foundered on their state-nationalist membership and their inevitably (inter-) statist aims. Via Campesina is here obviously a fish of a different feather. Whatever its relations with state or inter-state bodies might be.

Just a couple of idea off the top of my head...

Saludos solidarios,
