After the Polycentric World Social Forum in Bamako, which took place from 19 to 23 January 2006, we felt the urgent need to mobilise our forces in favour of expellees and undocumented migrants, in order to bring them together and support them in claiming their rights by intervening with the public authorities "here and there", all the more so as there is now a desire for joint action in the South as well as in the North.

Given the current context regarding emigration policies, our association, which used to focus its action mainly on emergency humanitarian support to deportees and worked to claim their rights, is now adopting a more offensive mode and strengthening its objectives.

These include the following:

• Reception, assistance and orientation of expellees
• Awareness-raising and mobilisation
• The collection of testimonies
