The Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights (FTDES) and the Moroccan Forum for Alternatives (FMAS), as the Secretariat for the organization of a session of the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal (PPT) on migration in Tunis, regret to announce the postponement of this event initially scheduled for 28, 29 and 30 March 2020. Indeed, due to health security concerns in view of the current risks associated with the evolution of the Covid epidemic19 and the demands of the Tunisian Ministry of Health, we are obliged to postpone the holding of this session of the PPT in Tunis. A progress report on the organization of this session and new dates will be communicated at a later date. The various governments concerned (Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya) as well as the European Union had been notified of the holding of this Session, the Secretariat of the PPT is therefore responsible for informing them of the decision to postpone in order to ensure complete transparency of the process. We would like to thank all those involved in the organization of this event who, at the regional level, have done a great deal of work. We will do what is necessary to preserve and develop everything that has been accomplished.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
The Secretariat,
FTDES / FMAS
