Solidariedade Imigrante is an association for the defence of the rights of immigrants in Portugal, nationwide and non-profit, created in 2001. We want to give the word to immigrants, an autonomous and independent word, so that we are the real protagonists in the defence of our interests.
We want everyone to be able to exercise their rights, regardless of their country of origin, religion, ethnicity and sex, through the fight for equal rights.
We belong to several networks of national and international associations, namely the Platform of Immigrant Associations, the Network to Combat Social Exclusion and Poverty, the Platform Article 65 - Housing for All, the No-Vox Network; we are also one of the promoters of the Portuguese Social Forum.
We fight daily for financial autonomy. Those we help also help the association by joining and paying their dues, in an attitude of responsibility and in creating a feeling of belonging.
