Human Rights Tribunal on the Right to Health MORIA Burns – Is this a Final Wake-Up Call? Moria is burning. This horror in the heart of Europe has been denounced as early as 2015 by dozens of organizations. At the time of the fire, 13 thousand people were locked in a prison of mud, rubbish and violence.
This situation is indicative of the overall policy of necropolitics practiced by the European Union and its member states towards migrant and refugee peoples and is combined with the policy of militarised externalisation of borders.
Policies of non-acceptance of migrants in Tunisia This report is the result of fieldwork carried out between October 2019 and December 2019 in partnership with the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights and the Euro-African network Migreurop. During this mission, 90 interviews were conducted with migrants, representatives of local and international NGOs, researchers, activists, lawyers, journalists and institutional actors at both national and local levels.
Europe begins to end the Lockdown: What about the Human Rights of Migrant and Refugee Peoples? We call on EU governments, to end their bi-lateral agreements on externalisation of borders and to also stop its investment in military equipment. Instead, it is urgently needed that the EU and its member states resume responsibility to save lives and ensure the exercise of human rights to all migrant and refugee people.
