Portavoz, the rap of the other Chile

, by  PeopleKonsian

The Chilean conscious/political rap scene has always had an important place in the development of rap in this country where it has accompanied and participated in many struggles.

The hip-hop activist collective Lumpen Crew, very active in Santiago de Chile on many battlefields, and one of its components, the Salavaje Decibel group, active since the early 2000s, are good examples. One of its members, Portavoz, to whom we owe the album Escribo Rap con R de Revolución, was in Puerto Rico at the beginning of December to play alongside Luis Díaz, from the group Intifada. Interviewed by the Diálogo 1 newspaper, Portavoz looks back at rap and struggle, rap as a struggle.
