Protests, proposals, processes: Solidarity and counter-cultural resistance, Lima-Peru

, by  Palante BBK

Within this urban monster of 10 million inhabitants that is Lima, solidarity and self-organization in popular neighborhoods through independent initiatives translate the rebirth of a contestatory political activity. This condensed audiovisual crosses and portrays the trajectory of different collectives that use music, muralism, circus, serigraphy or photography as tools of transformation to form a network of counter-powers on the margins of the big media and institutional structures. In the face of police violence and the betrayals of successive governments, and in response to a crude social reality, young people express their voice through autonomy and counter-culture.
