The Mekong Migration Network (MMN), founded in 2003, is a sub-regional network of migrant support NGOs, migrant grassroots groups, and research institutes. The central goal of MMN is to promote the welfare, well-being, dignity, and human rights of migrants in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), and to build mutual support and solidarity among migrants and advocates within the sub-region.

MMN advocates for the full recognition, respect, protection, and promotion of the dignity, wellbeing, and rights of migrants and their families. MMN is committed to working toward realising human, fair, and just working conditions as outlined in the ILO standards on “decent work” for all migrants, free from all forms of discrimination.

How we work :
– Information Dissemination : MMN collectively monitors policies, issues and responses concerning migration in the Greater Mekong Subregion and serves as a venue where migrant advocates can effectively exchange information and conduct analysis.
– Joint Research : MMN carries out research on migration policies and select thematic issues. The results are collectively analysed, compiled and published into our various publications. To view our publications, click here.
– Joint Advocacy : MMN collectively advocates for full recognition of the basic human rights of migrant workers and their families though organising symposia and meetings where migrant advocates and policy makers can exchange their views, intervening regional and international meetings, circulating action alerts and statements, and holding policy dialogues with relevant authorities.
– Capacity Building : MMN organises national training on various topics to enhance collective capacity in analysing current issues and promoting migrants’ rights. MMN also organises training for policy makers in the Greater Mekong Subregion to enhance their capacity to create and implement policies on migration from human rights, labour rights and gender perspectives.
